Home
I was born and raised in Jamaica and moved to the States when I was sixteen. It was one of the most difficult times in my life and I basically cried my body weight in tears for about a year. But I’ve come to learn that the term “home” doesn’t have to be an exact location. I still miss my little land of wood and wata but I’ve been able to find home in new people and places.
Thinking About 2040
My love for plants is sometimes overshadowed by my worry for the climate. This illustration features a concerned astronaut who has returned to a pollution ridden earth. Moving forward, I hope that human greed will pause long enough to recognize and change the toxic path that we are headed towards. Climate change is very real and very daunting; this illustration represents my two cents on the subject.
Terrarium Fairies
I recently discovered terrariums and immediately thought of this illustration. I would like to think that tiny fairies enjoy lounging in terrariums and foraging for various mushrooms and succulents that may brow there. I used fantastical colors to add to the playfulness of this piece.
