Meet the Artist

Atlanta-based, Jamaican-born artist Trudi Hemans is a full-time Illustrator and Designer dedicated to creating artwork filled with joy, whimsy, and vibrant color. Her highly detailed illustrations feature diverse characters, dreamy compositions, and an abundance of botanical and plant-inspired elements that seem to burst from the page.

Inspired by the lush natural surroundings of her childhood, her love of cartoons, and the children’s books she spent hours getting lost in, Trudi creates illustrations that feel both calming and fantastical. She earned her BFA in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

When she’s not drawing, Trudi enjoys curling up with a good Studio Ghibli film, taking long hikes, reading, crocheting, and caring for her gremlin-like fur babies. She dreams of one day living the life of the artist from Kiki’s Delivery Service; spending her days creating beneath the shelter of old, wise trees.
